Dr. Sarita Shrestha is a classically trained Ayurvedic physician from Kathmandu, Nepal with more than 25 years of clinical experience in hospitals, clinics and rural health camps. She has facilitated training programs for thousands of national and international students in Ayurvedic Medicine and Yoga Therapy; emphasizing her specialty in women's healthcare. She is renowned as Nepal's first female Ayurvedic physician as well as its first Ayurvedic OB/GYN. Educated in a medical school that fully integrated classical Ayurveda with "modern medicine", Dr. Shrestha has an exceptional perspective and ability to integrate western science and traditional Ayurvedic medicine for western students. In 2003 Dr. Shrestha founded the Devi Ma Ayurveda Hospital in Sipadole, Nepal, a village 18 km outside of Kathmandu. She has been teaching the US since 2000.

Dr. Shrestha is a unique teacher. She is the only known female Ayurveda M.D. OB/GYN currently teaching in the U.S. This is remarkable given that on average, at least 80% of those attending Ayurvedic programs in the US are women! In addition to teaching, she has also been providing educational consultations for individuals seeking support in their quest for health. During this time, she has gained a broad understanding of the health and social challenges facing individuals and families in this modern society. She is well known for her unique and specific medicinal formulations for women's healthcare and application of Ayurvedic therapeutics to conditions relevant in contemporary society. Dr. Shrestha also brings to us her knowledge and practice of Yoga Therapy and Acupuncture.
